We are a people’s movement
We work with the community to create positive changes
People’s Movement to Stop Haze, known as PM Haze, is a non-profit focusing on outreach, research and advocacy on the transboundary haze crisis. Our mission is to drive a global movement to stop the haze by empowering the community with the knowledge, means and values. Steering consumption patterns towards sustainable palm oil and paper as well as assisting Indonesian and Malaysian farmers to create a sustainable livelihood are two main ways we empower our community.

Our Team
Driven by passion. Rooted in community.
Co-founded by Tan Yihan, an ordinary Singaporean who witnessed Malaysian farmer’s fight against peat fires in 2014, PM Haze is all about taking collective action to stop the environmental destruction that causes haze. Led by a team of hard-core haze-fighters, volunteers from all walks of life contribute their time and expertise to the movement to stop the haze.

Current Projects

In order to protect forests, wildlife and prevent haze, we promote certified sustainable palm oil whose production results in less deforestation and fires, among consumers and business.

As one of the world’s major finance hubs, Singapore’s financial institutions play pivotal roles. We urge them to adopt responsible policies to the palm oil industry.

We assist Indonesian and Malaysian communities in peatland restoration, reforestation, and sustainable developement projects.
